Cadence was built for one reason: shopping for music and audio gear online means wading through thousands of near-identical listings, inflated marketing claims, and review sections that are often more noise than signal.
We organize picks by category — turntables & vinyl, headphones & home audio, instruments, accessories, production & DJ gear, and music tech — with honest, plainly written descriptions of what a piece of gear actually does, and what it doesn't.
Every product on this site is chosen using the same short checklist:
Cadence is currently a small, independently-run site — there's no in-house audio engineer or luthier behind it yet. We're upfront about that rather than implying otherwise.
The Find Your Sound quiz on the homepage asks three simple questions and uses one of them — your biggest focus — to mark two categories as "Recommended for you." It does not know your room, your existing gear, or your actual playing or production level, and it is not a real audio-gear recommendation engine of any kind. It's a content filter, nothing more, saved only in your browser with no account or backend. Every category stays fully browsable regardless of what you answer.
Cadence is a participant in the Amazon.ca Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. When you click through to Amazon and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a small commission — at no additional cost to you. This is the only way the site is monetized. See our Affiliate Disclosure for full details.
Products are not selected or ranked based on commission rate. We do not accept payment from brands for placement or favorable coverage.
